Debbie and her husband James bought a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house on a 905sqm lot at Fitzgibbon Chase.
Debbie and James purchased the land at the end of 2010, and moved in with their two children, now 4 and 2, when their builder, Plantation Homes, completed the house in September 2011.
"We looked for our new house for a long time – two and a half years – before we decided to build at Fitzgibbon Chase. As we looked around Chermside, Aspley and Carseldine, we just couldn't find the right combination of price, amenity and house design and quality.
"We knew what we wanted - a large block for the kids to play in, and a house large enough for my Mum to comfortably stay for the weekend, or even move into if she needed to.
"After searching through what felt like all of the existing housing stock on Brisbane's Northside, we came across Fitzgibbon Chase. It was right in the heart of the suburbs we were targeting, and if we purchased the land and then designed and built our house, we found we could guarantee a large block, with exactly the home we wanted.
"My husband and I both work for as public servants, so the close proximity to the train station is very convenient for our daily commute to the city.
"The neighbourhood's very quiet and feels very safe. We know most of our neighbours, and it's the type of community where we say hello to most of the people we pass as we walk around the neighbourhood. There is a sense of community at Fitzgibbon Chase.
"The nicest little surprise has been the community events the Fitzgibbon Chase team organise. Each year there are numerous movie nights, barbeques, open days and functions to take family along to."
